What is the ILA?
The International Law Association (ILA) was founded in Brussels in 1873. It has consultative status, as an international NGO, with a number of the United Nations special agencies.
The ILA (Australian Branch) is charity that encourages discourse on both private and public international law, which has bearing on Australia and the wider region. To achieve this, the ILA (Australian Branch) organises regular seminars, publishes an international law journal and blog, and offers prizes and internships. What is the role?
The role of Social Media Coordinator is a voluntary position and will be engaged on a voluntary basis. The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and growing the online presence of the ILA (Australian Branch). This will include Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
It is a great opportunity to work with some of the leading international lawyers in Australia. You will be at the centre of the information flow at a time when international law is a hot topic. The successful candidate will work closely with the National Committee, and help to coordinate a social media campaign for the 2018 International Law Association Conference in Sydney.
The role may require up to 4 or 5 hours per week.
Are you a suitable candidate?
Candidates will be in their penultimate or final year of a law degree, or recent graduates. A double degree with Media, or prior experience in managing an organisation or society’s social media accounts will be an advantage. Candidates should also have a strong interest in international law.
