Terms and Conditions

Articles should be contained in a Word document and aim to be between 400 and 1,500 words.

Authors must adhere to the Style Guide.

 

2. Copyright, warranties and indemnity

You are responsible for all content you contribute to ilareporter.org.au (the site), including text, photos, videos, audio and links.

By contributing an article, contributors warrant that:

(i) all prior permissions have been obtained where that is necessary to publish the information (for example, from current or former employers); and

(ii) no confidential, privileged or otherwise protected information has been disclosed through publication.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the International Law Association (Australia Branch) (ILA), its members and the editors of the site against any and all claims or actions arising out of a breach or alleged breach of the foregoing warranties.

The editors reserve the right to immediately and without prior notice to contributors remove an article for non-compliance with these requirements, or on other reasonable grounds (eg potentially defamatory material) as they see fit.

Copyright remains in contributors, who by submitting material to the site grant a free, perpetual non-exclusive licence authorising the ILA to republish it in any format and on terms that the work may be quoted or reproduced by readers with appropriate attribution of author and publication, for private, educational or other non-commercial purposes.

You confirm you own or have the right to use any copyright material included in your content.

 

3. Disclaimers

The ILA is not responsible for:

(i) any errors or omissions, for which contributors remain exclusively responsible;

(ii) the content of articles accepted for publication, for which contributors are expressing their own personal or professional opinions which are not to be attributed to the ILA and should not necessarily be considered as expressing the ILA’s views on any issue; and

(ii) the content, availability or performance of external sites linked to or hosting the site.

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. You understand and agree that you use the site at your own discretion and risk and that you will be solely responsible for any damage or loss whatsoever that results from such use.

The ILA disclaims to the fullest extent permitted by law all guarantees, warranties or representations of merchantability, acceptable quality and fitness for any purpose, security, reliability, accuracy, timeliness, and performance of the site and any content contained therein.
